Guided walk exploring the historical landscape and remnants along the way.

We will be holding a guided walk with a local historian to explore the landscape and discover why this area contributed to our industrial heritage. The circular trail entitled 'Forge, Crags & Heath' and found on no. 4 of our heritage trail leaflets, will cover 5 1/2 miles starting in Deepcar, upto Wharncliffe Woods and Heath and then meandering through the wooded valleys of the Upper Don upto the old forges where the natural resources found there were also used to the advantage of human development.
Meet up at Station Rd/Wortley Rd junction in Deepcar at 10am.
